Every plan includes a monthly allowance of matched players. Here is exactly what uses it, and what doesn't.
Every player placed in a match that is made uses one unit of your allowance. A 1v1 uses 2, a 2v2 uses 4, a 5v5 uses 10.
Time in the queue, the number of matching cycles a search takes, cancelled searches and dropped connections never use your allowance. Only players who actually get matched count.
Only the players in a match count, not the matches themselves, so custom match shapes cost the same per player as any other.
New searches are rejected with a clear error your backend can react to. Players already in the queue and matches already made are not affected.
Your dashboard shows the current cycle, how much of your allowance is used and remaining, and daily totals. Usage is recorded in batches, so a new match can take a couple of minutes to appear.
Your allowance resets at the start of each billing cycle, which follows your subscription's billing date. The cycle dates are shown in your dashboard.
We're building ways to carry on matching when you reach your allowance. Both are optional, and neither changes what you're charged unless you choose it.
Buy additional matched players whenever you need them. They don't expire at the end of the cycle, and they're only used once your plan's allowance for the cycle has been used up.
If you'd rather keep matching than pause at your allowance, you'll be able to turn overage on yourself. It is off by default, and nothing is ever charged beyond your plan unless you switch it on, so there are no surprise bills at the end of the month.
